Fall Welcome Letter copy 2
Here are some important dates:
• Winter Concert December 7, 2010 7:00pm
(Session I and III)The fourth and fifth grade choruses will be performing. Students need to be in the music room at 6:30pm. The snow date is Monday, December 13, 2010 at 7:00pm
• Caroling Field trips to Fairview Nursing Home and Adult Day Care Center at Alvirne High School. TBA!
The fourth grade chorus will be going to the Adult Day Care Center, and the fifth grade chorus will be going to Fairview Nursing Home. Students will be performing holiday selections from the concert, and other traditional carols. After the field trip students will be eating lunch at a local restaurant. I need to coordinate the dates of these events, but they will be happening the week of December 13h. More information will be coming soon!
• School Wide Concert- Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Grade 4 & 5 chorus students perform for grades K-5, during the school day. Due to the high number of students watching this event parents can not attend.
Enrichment Dates
Please see the Chorus Calendar for all the dates. Please note a few rehearsals are on different days due to holidays and vacations.
If your child is doing Section I only, they can sign up for Section II when it is offered. I will send out another form at that time. Section III / II be begin / resume on 1/31 & 2/1
Cancellations / Inclement Weather 
If chorus is cancelled due to inclement weather or my absence I will hold chorus a makeup rehearsal. If this happens your child would attend two enrichment classes in one week. You will be notified if rehearsal is cancelled and of the make up date.
All make up days will be held on a Wednesday or Thursday for Grades 4 &5 from 3:00-4:00pm.
Snacks
I allow the first 7 minutes of rehearsal time for bathroom, drinks, and snacks. Please pack a snack with your child if they need it.
Concert Dress
Women:
• NWES Chorus T-shirt, these will be distributed soon (they were included in the chorus enrichment price)
• Black skirt, or pants (jeans are acceptable)
• Black shoes (sneakers are acceptable)
Men:
• NWES Chorus T-shirt, these will be distributed soon (they were included in the chorus enrichment price)
• Black pants (jeans are acceptable)
• Black shoes (sneakers are acceptable)
If there are any problems attaining the proper dress for chorus please let me know as soon as possible. Concert dress is mandatory for all performance events, field trips, and concerts.
